In Morriscastle Strand, like the rest of Ireland we have been known to get the odd bit of bad weather. So if you find yourselves stuck in the middle of a duck’s wonderful day out why not pour the kids into the car and bring them to any of the following;

The Cinema, always a great solution for the worst of days,

The Slaney Plaza Cinema is located in Enniscorthy at Temple Shannon and their booking line is 1520 927010 or you can go straight to their website to see what’s showing at Slaney Plaza.

There is also a cinema further down the coast in Wexford Town. It’s called the Wexford Omniplex and is situated at Rosslare road,Drinagh. The booking line is 0818 221122 and you can navigate to their website at Wexford Omniplex.

Kidzone Gorey is an indoor activities playground with a variety of climbing frames,Giant slides and other fun kid stuff. They are located in the Gorey Business Park and can be contacted directly at 053 9481218 or visit their website at Kidzone.

Wexford playzone is a similar activity centre with Astro slides, climbing frame and three tier toddler frame. They are located at Clonard Retail Park and can be contacted at 053 9184509 or on their website at Wexford Playzone.

What to do if..it’s sunny!

Spend the day on the beach! Morriscastle has a famous Blue Flag beach with some of the most beautiful stretches of beach in all of Ireland.

There is a pitch and putt course in the last caravan park on your way back towards the village on the right hand side.

Shrule Pet Farm is a commercial deer farm but also a pet farm with all the usual farm animals, you can take part in a guided tour of the deer enclosure and even feed them! Contact them directly for opening hours on 055 27277.

Kia Ora Mini Farm is situated off the old Courtown harbour road is a great place for children of all ages to experience first hand the world of animals and life on a farm. There is also a coffee shop for parents. Contact them on 055 21166.
